Good day, magical one,
Summer is swooning in its fullness. Untouched hedgerows and meadows have grown wild, providing leafy green shade for rabbit, hare, deer, fox, birds, and creatures rarely seen. Barley sways in the gentle breeze - a golden sea beneath a burning sun.
After an agreeable June with many days of fine weather, we're now several days into a heatwave. The heaviness is palpable. A restful sleep is almost impossible. We are not used to such intensity of heat here in sacred Lancashire. But it's glorious!
I've been spending time with our visiting deer. He is comfortable with me wandering the meadow with him, and doesn't seem to mind my spontaneous singing. While he grazes, my mind and body softens until I feel almost formless.
These summer evenings have a special kind of magic. Most nights (almost up to 11pm) the light lingers over these quiet country lanes making it easier to spot the hares and several owls (Tawny, Barn and Little Owl). Life plays to its own rhythm out here. I'm acutely aware of the moment but I also realise that I'm just a ghost passing through.
This is all for now. Thank you for reading, and for all your kind words, kinship, and support.
May you find all that your soul needs on your travels with some extra magic along the way.
Love & Sparkles,
Carol Anne Strange ♡
